Regulations restricting the height of structures and objects of natural growth within the hazard area of the Ross County Airport; creating various zones; defining certain terms used; referring to the Ross County Airport Zoning Map, which is made a part hereof; providing for enforcement and imposing penalties; and establishing a Ross County Airport Zoning Board of Appeals.
Multi-family (4 units or more), commercial construction projects, and Manufactured Homes will require a building permit. These permits are issued by the Ross County Building Department, which administers the Ohio Building Code (OBC) in unincorporated portions of Ross County. The OBC addresses new construction, alterations, and changes in use on projects not involving new single-family residential dwellings. The Ross County Building Department also handles permits in Pike County, and the Village of Waverly.
House numbers in Ross County are determined by the location of your driveway and its relation to the nearest driveway or crossroad from which you can measure to your new driveway, and are obtained thru the Ross County Building Dept. If you are constructing a new driveway on a township or county road, you must contact our department for an access permit. Permits for driveways along US and state highways are issued by ODOT, then once approved, our department will issue the new address.
